How to diagnose mesothelioma, including quite difficult, the patient must consciously want to see her doctor because they can not diagnose the patient`s own. * There also frequent fluids or masses in the abdomen

Patient usually shows sympstoms of mesothelioma perikadial :

* Chest pain
* Cough
* Palpitations
* and Dyspenea


The diagnoses of mesothelioma, doctors always interview the patient, whatever the patient`s complaint. He will compile a complete medical history. In addition, your doctor will also physically examine the patient. If there is fluid in the chest cavity is pleural mesothelioma, fluid in the abdominal cavity is petoneal or perdicardium mesothelioma is pericardial mesothelioma.

Mesothelioma Diagnosis Tests

If your doctor suspects asbestos-related diseas like mesothelioma, the next step in receiving the diagnosis of mesothelioma include testing to confirm the presence of mesothelioma, the location, size and type of cancer involved, and determine wheter the cancer has spraed to other parts of the body asbestos. This often will involve imaging tests such as :

* Chest X-ray : this is most common imaging tests used to diagnose mesothelioma. Almost all diagnosis will involve X-rays, but more sophisticated imaging tests will follow to better understand the shape and prevelence of tumor (s)
* CT Scan : This is an X-ray procedurers such as where several X-ray picture is taken and combined with computer to produce detailed images of body tissues. If you undergo a CT Scan, you may be given intervenous injections of dye which helps produce a more detailed picture.
* Pet Scan : A solution of glucose given by intravenous injection and scanner used to place deposits of cancer cells. Malignant cells take up and use sugar faster than normal cells, so that they cen easyly be distingusished by using this procedure
* MRI Scan : A combination of radio waves and strong magnetic field are used to create detailed three-dimensional image that can be carefully examined by the radiologist.


Fluids and Testing Network

These test, also known as biopsy test, involes collecting a small sample of fluid or tissue and examine them for the presence of cancer cells. The tests include :

* Fine Needle Aspiration : Mesothelioma cancer causes fluid to build in locations affected, as in the pleural membrance. During fine needle aspiration, the doctor will remove the fluid sample using a needle that very long, thin and hollow.
* Thoracoscopy : Thoracoscopy is used in cases where the pleural or pericardial mesothelioma is suspected. During this procedure, a very small incision is made in the chest wall and tissue sample will be removed.
* Bronchoscopy and Laparoscopy : These procedures are similar to thorascopy, but performed on different body parts. Bronchoscopy is used to view the trachea and airways, while laparoscopy is used to remove the peritoneal tissue samples.
* Mediastinoscopy : This procedure is used to view the lymph nodes in the chest and neck, to determine wheter the cancer has spread from the point of origin.
